COVID-19 Latest Update 15/03/20

Posted on March 15, 2020 by Janelle Barraclough

As you are aware, we are experiencing an unprecedented event with the global spread of COVID-19 which is now impacting on sporting gatherings. After meeting with state premiers and chief ministers today, the Prime Minister of Australia has confirmed in a national address that from Monday 16 March 2020, all NON-ESSENTIAL STATIC EVENTS in Australia with over 500 or more people should NOT be held.

The Prime Minister further advised this measure is applied as an Australia wide measure to manage and contain the spread of COVID-19 and that should the need arise, measures will be further scaled up to address future challenges.

This is now a directive and not advice and it is important to act in accordance with this information.

How will this affect affiliated rodeo events and social gatherings?
Events with 500 or more people who are together in close proximity for a sustained amount of time, are advised to give notice of cancellation to all stakeholders until further advice has been received from the government.

While this advice may not apply to smaller scale events, organisers and committees of smaller gatherings are asked to use common sense principles when making the decision to run their respective events.

If an organiser or committee fails to follow this advice, they will be answerable to state law and open to prosecution.

How will this affect our insurance?
Events cancelled due to COVID-19 will receive a waived cancellation fee for all policies with a full credit note given, which can be held over to their next event date.

If you have a committee that is conducting an event and you are unsure of your responsibilities, please don’t hesitate to contact our office for further information or visit the government health website https://www.health.gov.au/ for  details and updates.

While this is a difficult situation, the wellbeing of our participants and spectators are of utmost importance. We appreciate your support and understanding in this challenging time.

The VOICE Stars 'Homegrown' Set to Rock Dalby Showgrounds!

Posted on October 06, 2018 by Janelle Barraclough

Through their recent success on the TV show ‘The Voice’ – where the band made it through the blind audition (turning all 4 chairs) and battle rounds - you may have seen HOMEGROWN on TV, but now you can see them live, and hear their amazing vocals and harmonies in person!

2018 heralds the beginning of exciting times for family band ‘Homegrown’, with the release of their 6 track EP ‘Wildflower Bruises’.  Katelyn, Liam and Kasey O’Donoghue (21, 18 and 16 years) are indeed young, but musically they have maturity far beyond what the years suggest.  The three siblings have their own sound but are reminiscent of Little Big Town, Fleetwood Mac and The McClymont's, but are fast making their own name in the world of music!!

The National Rodeo Council of Australia is pleased to announce Homegrown will be performing LIVE after the Friday nights (2nd Nov) National Rodeo Finals competition from 10pm til late. Come and watch the excitement of the National Rodeo Finals and stay on for the afterparty for fun times!
