Queensland Rodeo Association (QRA)

The Queensland Rodeo Association 'QRA' was formed in July 1982 catering for all rodeo events including: Bull, Bullock, Saddle, Bareback, Rope and Tie, Steer Wrestling, Team Roping, Ladies Barrel, Steer Undecorating, Breakaway

Roping, Junior Barrel, Juvenile Barrel, Junior Poddy Ride, Juvenile Steer Ride, Juvenile Breakaway Roping and Juvenile Bull Ride.

The Association is proud to declare they were the first Association to introduce Australia to the ‘Miniature Bucking Pony Ride.’

In 2007, the Ahern Bucking Stock Contractors at Wyandra put together a string of good ponies starting the now popular event for the junior cowboy. The rodeo spectators love to watch the ponies in action and everyone seems to love the event.

The QRA is made up of many committees, which are spread over a vast area of Queensland, running from Weipa out to Longreach and down to Lightening Ridge.
